Sesame Street Rocks!

May 13th, 2007 by kevinmichaelsim

haha… been fooling around with Youtube again… it’s amazing all the tv shows you can catch there that you will never watch in Singapore… anyways, I’ve always known that Sesame Street had those read-between-the-line jokes that adult parents would understand while watching Sesame Street with their kids.. keeps the material more "intelligent" i guess… or something…

going back to that mythical street somewhere near central park;  where sunny days chase the clouds a-way, I’ve just realised all over again how much Sesame Street rocks! haha…this might sound lame.. until I came across this clip…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uQa4dvrg1E

I’ve heard of this 70’s artist, James Taylor, but I never put 2 and 2 together and realised he sang this song! .. on Sesame Street somemore!

here’s some more funnily addictive stuff…

Manna Manna

An ear-worm is a catchy riff that once you’ve heard it; it doesn’t get out of your head. This one in particular, has been in my head for years!.. it’s a running gag for quite a few episodes, but ironically I remember it best when Sandra Bullock sang it on the Muppet Show.. only she kept saying "Phenomenon" instead of "manna manna"…

Rubber Duckie

This song is the all-time favourite anthem of Sesame Street.

Put down the Duckie

This is famous too. ..

This will confirm make you cry…

Hip to be square

Waiter!

One of my favourite skits… I even used to have dreams about this when i was a kid !!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GOGNE0nWHk

Yipyipyipyipyipyipyip… uh huh uh huh

The aliens chatter have a really hypnotic effect, don’t you think?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQjhvonqhGA

This was the first time the aliens appeared… haha.. I still remember this one!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4VNMERVsC4&mode=related&search=

The aliens on old Macdonald’s farm. This is solid proof that Kermit the frog was on Sesame Street as well as the Muppet Show. Check out MacDonald’s highland accent.

Justice League/ Batman Beyond crossover

April 28th, 2007 by kevinmichaelsim

wway cool! cartoon networks hosts "Justice League Unlimited" every night at 11:30pm. tonight’s episode was a crossover between Batman Beyond and Justice League. Seem’s the back story for Batman Beyond goes back when batman’s dna was stolen …yada yada yada… so Batman beyond’s Terry Mcgillis is in some ways, Bruce Wayne’s son.. having some of his dna.. cool… and "Batman Beyond" was the name of the project for the whole shebang that stole batman’s dna..

Watching HBO now…just found out that there are TWO (!!) prequels to the Exorcist!! first is Exorcist : The Beginning (2004) which i watched at Lido cinema and HBO… second one on HBO at this very moment is Dominion : Prequel to the Exorcist (2005) .. aka Paul Schrader’s Exorcist: The Original Prequel (USA: complete title)

To add to the confusion, both are played by the mostly same actors (except for the hospital nurse and the young priest) at the same locations. haha i was watching for an hour and wondering why the second version is so different  yet the same …. go to www.imbd.com to find out more..

Father Merrin in both prequels is play by this guy

Heard on the radio

November 27th, 2005 by kevinmichaelsim

this is SO CUTE !! ….

anyways, …heard this song on the radio after work yesterday…something to ponder over if you think your life is crap and you failed in some areas of your life;

If God is a DJ,

Life is the dancefloor,

Love is the rhythm,

You are the music

If God is a DJ,

Life is the dancefloor,

You get what you give it,

That’s how you use it" ….or something like that

Exorcism of Emily Rose

November 7th, 2005 by kevinmichaelsim

hey, i found out the Exorcism of the real Emily Rose was a german girl named Anneliese Michel.

I remember Discovery Channel did a piece on exorcism on a show called True Horror- the host was the guy who played Giles on Buffy the vampire slayer. The most frightening part was right at the end, when a man possessed by a demon (played by an actor) stares right at you while Antony reads a soliloquoy : on how personal moral relativism easily slip-slides into evil and this, in the extreme form, demonic posession. Not the Linda Blair head-spinning type, but the personal demons that exist in each of us.

Team Ryouko rocks!

October 25th, 2005 by kevinmichaelsim

check this out! Team Ryouko - some martial arts performance team.

and this 11 year old boy blew my mind as well!

Recent discovered the urban sport of Parkour which was originally started in Paris . (Think : Yamakasi) Kind of like clearing SOC. There was a jeans ad and a fragrance ad that featured Parkour (or "Free running") as well.
